Asperger's, Magic, and Coping: Jono's Journey

Magic has always been an escape for me. It's a place where I can be someone else, express my creativity, and have fun. But little did I know that my love for magic would become much more than just a hobby. It would become a tool that I would use to cope with my Asperger's Syndrome and help me with the challenges that come with it.

As someone who is on the autistic spectrum, I often struggle with anxiety, approaching people, and building confidence. These are common issues for many people with Asperger's and can often lead to feelings of isolation and frustration. However, I have found that my love for magic has helped me in ways that I never could have imagined.

One of the biggest ways that magic has helped me is by giving me a tool to cope with my anxiety. When I'm on stage, performing a trick, I'm completely focused on what I'm doing. I don't have time to think about my nerves or my worries, and this helps me to manage my anxiety. The more I perform, the more comfortable I become, and the more I build up my confidence. This has been an incredible journey for me and one that I would not have been able to achieve without magic.

Another way that magic has helped me is by giving me a way to approach people. When I'm performing a trick, I am in control of the interaction. I am the one who is initiating the conversation, and this gives me a level of comfort that I don't often have in other social situations. Through magic, I have been able to build up my social skills and make connections with people that I wouldn't have otherwise.

Finally, magic has inspired me to help others who are on the autistic spectrum. I have met so many amazing people who are also on the spectrum and who are also using magic as a tool to cope with their challenges. This has been a truly inspiring experience for me, and I want to share it with others. I want to inspire people who are on the autistic spectrum to get into magic themselves and to see how it can help them in their own lives.

In conclusion, my journey with Asperger's and magic has been a truly incredible experience. Magic has given me a way to cope with my anxiety, approach people, and build confidence. It has also inspired me to help others and to show them that anything is possible. Whether you are on the autistic spectrum or not, magic has something to offer everyone. It's a place where you can be yourself, express your creativity, and have fun. So, if you're looking for a way to cope with your challenges, I encourage you to give magic a try. You might be surprised at how much it can help you.
